It’s that time of year again – time to renew (or obtain) your dog’s license.
Please submit $20 / dog to the Village Office no later than February 28, 2021. Should we not receive your dog license fee, you will be in violation of our Dog Control Bylaw and could be subject to fines up to $70. If you lost your dog this past year, please accept my sincere condolences, I just ask you let me know so I can update my records.
We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you to clean up after your dog. Should your dog do his (or her) business in someone else’s yard or on Village property, out of respect for your neighbours and your community, please clean it up. Additionally, the tennis court is a great place to take your dog for some off leash fun – however, we’ve noticed a significant amount of feces in and around the court…please, please pick up after your dog. Our Public Works staff shouldn’t have to.
DID YOU KNOW?
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the safest way to dispose of pet waste is to bag it and throw it in the trash. Dog waste is NOT fertilizer, as it contains harmful bacteria, including E.coli. These bacteria pose health risks to you, your pet and your community.
Once again we will not be issuing new dog tags, unless your pupper has lost it. When submitting your fee, please indicate if you need another tag and one will be mailed to you.
