Gym Hall History
The Gym Hall is a multipurpose facility that was built by the Community in 1976 to serve as a hall for the town and a gym for the school.
The old town hall had been condemned and torn down in 1967, so the town was without a hall. After the new part of Sedley School burned and was rebuilt in 1976, the school division stated there would be no funds forthcoming to build a gymnasium for the school. The community rose to the challenge and the Gym Hall was built.
The school division rents the gym for 10 months of the year. The Hall is available after school hours for functions.
Every year an annual Fall Supper is held on the 3rd Sunday of October as a fundraiser for the facility. The community is canvassed for food to serve at the supper and volunteers work a shift to help serve the food. Approximately 500 people come for supper every year, so this is a very important source of income for the Gym Hall.
Sometime in October a mysterious little sheet of paper will show up in your mail box for some type of food donation for the Fall Supper.
